[jadmin] DNS help

Hi all

I know this is not a real jabber question, but I have got a problem 
getting the dns to work. As I am new to setting up dns (on linux redhat 
7.0).

I am on a company network and I do not have control of the DNS server. 
How do i set up dns locally, to only resolve the jabber needed part of 
the domain name e.g.. aim.mymachine.country.company.com. The dns I am 
using only handles as far as mymachine.country.company.com for dns lookups.

An example would help alot
