I doubt they're blocking by IP, since I run a closed server with
almost no AIM traffic, and I'm blocked too.

My guess is they changed the protocol a little again to break
aim-transport.  

Whatever happened to the IETF "Instant Messaging and Presence
Protocol" standard anyway?  Does anybody have an update or is it
hopelessly stalled in studies and committees??
