OK, there are plug-ins and extensions and transports for Jabber Server. 
These additional items could be items like an SMS gateway, conferencing, 
or a Yahoo Transport. Think of each of these as additional programs that 
are added to the Jabber Server to increase functionality. For more info 
about extensions and transports, please see documentation via jabber.org.
