Hi,
I am looking for an instant messenger for a LAN which should work with
kde AND console. I didn't find any non-server solution and now I want to
try licq and jabberd.
My system is Suse 10.0 and I installed jabberd 2.0s9, which is part of
the distribution.

According to the quickstart guide I edited in c2s.xml:
<module>mysql</module> to <module>db</module>

And in sm.xml I edited <id>localhost</id> to <id>192.168.0.99</id> (my
local adress)
                                  <driver>mysql</driver> to
<driver>db</driver>

then I typed as root "jabberd -D" and thats what jabberd said:

SuSEP4:/ # jabberd -D
JBRD: debug on
JBRD: version(2.0s9)
JBRD: config_dir(/etc/jabberd)
JBRD: LaunchJob: router -> /usr/bin/router -c /etc/jabberd/router.xml -D
JBRD: LaunchJob: resolver -> /usr/bin/resolver -c
/etc/jabberd/resolver.xml -D
JBRD: LaunchJob: sm -> /usr/bin/sm -c /etc/jabberd/sm.xml -D
JBRD: LaunchJob: s2s -> /usr/bin/s2s -c /etc/jabberd/s2s.xml -D
JBRD: LaunchJob: c2s -> /usr/bin/c2s -c /etc/jabberd/c2s.xml -D
ROUT: WARN: Debugging not enabled. Ignoring -D.
ERROR: router died. Shutting down server.
JBRD: Got a signal... pass it on.
JBRD: It was a TERM. Shut it all down!

Please help! My Linux-knowledge ist under construction and I hope there
is only a simple error in the configuration. Please keep in mind I don't
need any access to the internet (but the computer I test jabberd with
has internet access. I hope that doesn't interfere the installation.)

Greetings

Frank
