[jadmin] Jabberd2 Ubuntu 8 hour mysql disconnect

Hi everyone,
  I am running the latest version of jabberd2 available in the ubuntu
repository.
I have been having a problem that is stopping clients to login.

When I checked the logs I noticed that jabberd2 had disconnected from mysql.
A restart fixed the issue until it happened again. After some google I found
that it was due to the 8 hour timeout on mysql, when there is no activity
the connection drops.

I followed their instructions of putting [jabberd] reconnect into the mysql
conf file but it didnt help.

They did however also suggested applying a patch, however as I am not
running jabberd2 form source this is not possible. Also seeing as the patch
was for an older release I presumed it would be in the version I am using.

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to sort it out?

Any information is much appreciated.
