[jadmin] A newbie question

I downloaded jabberd2 source compiled and installed it.  I had no real 
problem.   I installed gaim on both a windows and linux box.  using
tow different id's I tried communicating .  I get a 404 error when 
I im from one to the other?   I have looked for a list of error messages and 
have not found them.  I looked through the FAQ and have not found them.

Can anybody help a newbie?
