I think you can add an entry for proxy.example.org on the /etc/hosts file of
all your LAN computers and add a wildcard on your external domain (so that
*.example.org works from the WAN). Instead of the /etc/hosts file, you also
can setup your own internal DNS server (maradns is very nice).
