[jadmin] resolving SRV records

Are you sure that's the problem? I've never come across this before. You
can check easily enough, using NSLookup.

> Nslookup
> Set Type=SRV
> _xmpp-client._tcp.jabber.org

Yields:

Non-authoritative answer:
_xmpp-client._tcp.jabber.org    SRV service location:
          priority       = 30
          weight         = 30
          port           = 5222
          svr hostname   = jabber.org

jabber.org      internet address = 208.245.212.98
