[jadmin] Synchronous messaging via Jabber

Is there an easy-to-use (and set up) Jabber server that supports  
synchronous messaging?  I'm currently running the Wildfire server on  
WinXP, and it's working beautifully, but seems to lack synchronous  
messaging.

Our users run iChat on Mac workstations, and Chatopus on WiFi-enabled  
Palm devices.  By default, the Palm devices have priority, so when a  
message is addressed to a particular user, and their Palm device is  
connected to the network, they receive the message only on the Palm  
device.

My intent is to set up a Jabber server that will allow them to  
receive a message on both devices at once.  Also, some users float  
between two or three computers.  Presumably such a server  
configuration would also allow them to receive messages on all  
machines through which they're logged in.

Ideas?
