[jadmin] Jabber2 hangs on authentication

I'm using pam for authentication and bdb for the backend.

If I restart the server with the provided sysvinit script, the users'
clients hangs when authenticating. (Gaim in this case.)

In the log, I see a message from c2s that the user is requesting a
session.  But then nothing ever comes back from sm.

However, if I delete the __*db.??? files in /usr/local/var/jabberd/db,
all is fine.

I've added a line to remove them in the initscript.  But I'm curious
what is going on.

CentOS 4.4 Linux x86.
