[jadmin] Users appear offline

Hi,

I'm running jabberd2 (2.0s9p3) on OpenBSD against MySQL with MUC installed,
and for most things it's working fine. I can see users on other networks,
and talk to them without any problems.

However, I've tried adding some extra users to my server, and though they
are in my contacts list, they always appear offline. I can talk to them
if I contact them directly, but both Kopete and Gaim clients always show
the users as offline.

If I add the users as contacts to my GTalk account (using the same clients),
all the users appear online. From the point of view of the local users
however, they are all offline.

I've seeing this problem with both Kopete and Gaim, on a couple of different
machines on my local network. However, if I login from work, I can see the
other users. It appears that users on the local server cannot see each other
if they are logged in on the local network. It's just occurred to me that it
may be an issue with firewalls/routing since the OpenBSD machine is the main
firewall/internet gateway for my home network. However, I've no idea what
the issue might be.

Has anyone got any ideas on what could be wrong?
