[jadmin] sm requires authentication db package ?

I have 2 jabberd2 2.0s11 installed, one on server A, one on server B. 

 

Server A 

-          c2s.xml : connect to mysql at localhost.

-          Realm=mainRealm

-          mainRealm resolves to Server A locally

 

Server B

-          c2s.xml : connect to mysql at A

-          Realm=mainRealm

-          mainRealm resolves to Server B locally

 

My clients connect thru a firewall/load balancer with jid=client at mainRealm and are redirected to A or B. 

 

From what I understand of the architecture (see http://jabberd2.xiaoka.com/wiki/InstallGuide/Jabberd2Architecture , section 13.2. Jabberd 2 Component Architecture) , only c2s needs access to the authentication db package (i.e. table authreg). Since both c2s use the same DB to authenticate the user, everything *should* work fine.

 

... but it doesn't : the client is unable to login. In sm.log of Server B I see : 

[notice] user not found, can't start session: jid=client at mainRealm/client

 

I did find a workaround : modify sm.xml to connect to mysql at Server A also instead of localhost. 

 

Does this mean sm also needs both the Application DB package and the Authentication DB package ? Am I missing something ? Anybody know if this is a bug or if this IS how it's supposed to work ?
