[jadmin] Cannot Connect to INTERNAL Jabberd server

My server starts up with out error but I can not connect to it via my  
client.

I am running Jabberd-2.0.11-r1
on Gentoo 2007.0
With mySQL 5.0.40
openldap-2.3.30-r2
using ldap auth/reg

The recurring theme seems to be "router refused bind request"

searching on google has turned up no helpful answers

I changed the default bind IP from 0.0.0.0 to the machine IP hoping  
that would fix the problem, but alas it did not.

Please help me if you can.
