You are right I use python 5.2.1 (stupid typo).

I think you are probably right about xmpppy, protocol.py is 1.54. 

Will try the cvs version of the librairy. Will come back to let everybody know if this solved the problem.

I have searched the internet and all kinds of mailing lists but the only answer I can find is that I have to install xmpppy. I already had this library installed but I keep getting the same error. I use python 
5.2.1. Also have dnspython-1.5.0 installed.

Look in xmpp/protocol.py, it should be at least version 1.57 (shown directly after the header in the file)

You probably have 0.3 xmpppy installed, but from that error you're running the CVS version of the transport.  You need to use the CVS version of the library then.


You're using python 2.5.1 right, not 5.2.1 ?
