I'm not sure if you need to add the extra module. The debian python package
comes with the bsddb module built in, so I assumed that your solaris build
would as well (you're on solaris right? that's what python shows your gcc
info as). Did you build your own python package? If you did then generally
you need to have the bsddb library installed and configured correctly so
that the python build scripts can detect it (I'd assume).

Yes, the berkeley database libraries [1] are required for this to work.
