[standards-jig] hierarchies

All this talk about overloading the room name to include a hierarchy is
insane. It's just a directory structure, why build all that into the JID
of the room? When you search for Jabber software on the Google directory
or somesuch, you get some crazy URL like the following:

http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Software/Internet/Clients/Chat/Messaging_Services/Jabber/

But a room named computers.software.internet.clients.chat... is just
silly.

Let's get over this whole issue. Maybe someone (BlackDog and Vapor?) can
write up a JEP for this but really I think it will tie in with some of the
pub-sub stuff, specifically topic management. A room name is really just a
topic ID of the kind discussed in http://www.jabber.org/jeps/jep-0036.html
and is not required to have any semantic meaning. If an implementation
wants to build such semantic meaning into room names, that's fine. If we
want a JEP for the hierarchical structure of how rooms relate to one
another a la Usenet, that's great too. But someone go write a JEP rather
than blathering on about it on this list. Please!
