Because it recurses indefintely. The client will get his presence in
such a fashion:
<presence from='user at example.com/baz'/>
[ ... to "foo" resource ... ]
<presence from='user at example.com/baz'
to='user at example.com'/>
[ ... to "bar" resource ... ]
<presence from='user at example.com/baz'
to='user at example.com'/>
[ ... to "baz" resource ... ]
<presence from='user at example.com/baz'
to='user at example.com'/>
