I think everything has been said already. But i'd like to express my opinion 
as a sort of vote (and because of [2] ;-)).

IMHO The caps node in the presence SHOULD NOT contains any version 
information.  Even node='' attribute is not required for me (expected for 
compatibility with the old JEP[1])

Arguments :
 - Only powered user care about version.  (while caps is importent for 
everyone in order to enable/disable features in the UI)
 - Version still can be asked on demand with iq:version
 - remember we want to reduce brandwith usage, and adding more crap in the 
<presence/> will not help. 


[1] But are we still compatible with it anyway?  (and if we want to be 
compatible, the node should be the same for every client)
