We are starting from scratch this instant.

BTW this morning I approved 10 more people as list subscribers, so we
may see more activity here soon.

The basic idea is that we need to define what we want the new jabber.org
website to be like and look like. I make the following assumptions, in
no particular order:

1. We want to port over some of the existing information (e.g., the
software pages). There is database work involved in that.

2. We want to make it all more user-friendly -- for end users, for
server admins, for developers, for business people. By user-friendly we
*may* mean pointing off to appropriate resources elsewhere. I don't
think we need to host everything at jabber.org.

3. We want to make it easy to maintain. This is a community project. I
don't want to be the bottleneck anymore.

4. We want to provide quality information, not mere opinion. No spamming
of the site by partisans of a particular server or client.

5. We may decide to host forums, software reviews, blogs, and I don't
know what else. That's all up for discussion.

6. The site will not be affiliated with the XSF or any legal entity.
This is just "jabber.org" -- no organization, no Board of Directors,
etc. We can choose a name if we like ("Jabber Community Network" or
whatever), but "Jabber.org" is fine by me to start and maybe forever.

7. Retaining elements of the existing look and feel might be nice (e.g.,
the existing light bulb logo, but change the text to be "Jabber.org"),
but I'm not wedded to that.
