Once we have that I suggest to discuss the actual structure of the database:
_What will be a node?
_What will be a cck-field?
_What will go to taxonomy?
_Are there other interesting options to store information?

The biggest hassle with my portal was to figure out how features of 
clients, servers, client-XEPS and server-XEPs should correlate.
An Example: our structure should be able to maintain a list of public 
jabber servers, with a link to the server software AND the activated 
XEPs and or features on that specific server. And when browsing the 
server software  a quick info wich and how many public servers make use 
of that particular software would be really nice.

The most valuable thing about the page should be a consistant option to 
filter.
Filter software+servers+libraries.... by XEP, translation, licence, 
feature etc.
Once we have that we can come up with any logic to present it on the page.
