Absolutely not.

Drupal has the policy (and I believe that we should, too) that you
shouldn't have to have JS to make basic functions like a filter
work.  Ajax is occasionally used to add cute niceties, but never for
necessary functionality.  Accessibility isn't something I'm willing to
sacrifice in order to get fun toys.
