[webteam] meeting results

OK, we had a lively discussion in the webteam meeting that ended about 
an hour ago. The logs are here:

The conclusions are:

1. We'd like to build a better authentication system that enables you to 
log in with your jabber credentials from any xmpp server. (I'll post 
about it separately, or see the logs.)

But that will take some time.

Therefore:

2. We will work to launch the new website soon without the fancy jabber 
authentication.

This means we have a few action items:

3. Finalize the IM services policy. See here (I just updated it):

4. Clean up the submission guide:

5. Turn off general user registration and require an admin to create an 
account for you (e.g., if you want to be a content creator).

6. Fix up the client software presentation problems. This seems to be a 
CCK-related issue. Has anyone looked at this?

7. Fix the cron job.

8. Address any other issues listed in the migration plan:

I will start working on as many of these as possible today and tomorrow, 
but feel free to pitch in and help. :)
