As I understand it, this is a new ejabberd module and is not part of the
standard ejabberd installation. But I'm sure we can deploy it with
proper controls (presumably we don't want to allow just anyone to access
it).

No. I'm not even sure what is meant by "the site code". But we have an
SVN service at svn.xmpp.org and it would be easy enough to create a
repository for the site code there.
