Hi,
Polarian, I think declaring the account lost was premature. An expired certificate suggests a missed renewal, not necessarily an abandoned server, and some public records seem to point the other way: WHOIS suggests the domain was renewed recently, its DNS appears to have been edited in July, and it seems to have working email with a paid provider. That looks more like a lapsed certificate on a recently paid-for domain, than an abandoned one.
Persmule, it's probably worth trying to reach the admin first, for instance via a standard address like
postmaster@jabber.cat or
admin@jabber.cat. The contact details in WHOIS are redacted, but the registrar (INWX) may be willing to forward a message to the domain holder. And if anyone on this list knows who runs
jabber.cat, a direct nudge is probably the quickest route to a fix. If that gets no response in the coming weeks, moving to a well-rated provider from
providers.xmpp.net is good advice.
Kind regards,
Guus
