0. Roll Call

All but Jack Moffitt in attendance, quorum achieved.

1. JEP-0060: Publish-Subscribe

Publish version 1.9?

Changelog not up to date, Peter to fix. Ralph has posted one issue to
the Standards-JIG list, needs to be discussed or fixed. Peter to release
1.9pre4 soon, vote may occur on the Council list.

2. JEP-0163: Personal Eventing via Pubsub

Votes needed from all Council members. Depends on JEP-0060 1.9, so can't
vote until that is approved. Ian's request about recommended defaults
not yet published, Peter to release new version.

3. JEP-0175: Best Practices for Use of SASL ANONYMOUS

All Council members in attendance voted +1. Voted needed from Jack, he
can vote on the Council list.

4. JEP-0059: Result Set Management

No objections to issuing second Last Call.

5. JEP-0045: Multi-User Chat

Publish version 1.21? Several Council members requested more time to
review, will vote in next meeting or on the Council list.

6. JEP-0080: User Geolocation

Publish version 1.3? No objections.

7. proto-JEP: Shared XML Document Editing

Accept as a JEP? Council consensus that this needs further discussion on
the Standards-JIG list before publishing as a JEP.

8. proto-JEP: Whiteboarding

Accept as a JEP? Council consensus that this needs further discussion on
the Standards-JIG list before publishing as a JEP.

9. proto-JEP: File Transfer Preview

Accept as a JEP? Council members didn't like the large in-band file
transfer and thought there has to be a better way, but didn't come up
with a solution. Declined to publish for now pending discussion of
alternatives on the Standards-JIG list.

10-13. proto-JEPs for User Chatting, Browsing, Gaming, Viewing

Accept as JEPs? Ralph pointed out that these cover some of the same
ground as JEP-0108. Peter may add use cases about including these
formats within the appropriate elements in JEP-0108 (e.g., the
<watching_tv/> element could include user viewing information as a
child). Also some discussion about the monolithic nature of JEP-0108
since it specifies only one (primary?) activity at a time, doesn't cover
multitasking.

14. Protocol branding

Some discussion of the proposed change from JEPs to XEPs. (This is a
Member + Board decision anyway.)

15. Next Meeting

September 13. This will be the final meeting of the Council for the
2006-2007 session.
