Present: Dave Cridland, Ralph Meijer, Jack Moffitt, Peter Saint-Andre,
Kevin Smith.

All members of the Eighth XMPP Council present, quorum achieved.

1. Agenda bashing

2. Orientation

None required.

3. Choice of Chair for Eighth Council

Peter Saint-Andre nominated Kevin Smith. Dave Cridland seconded. All in
favor. Kevin Smith is the Chair for the Eighth Council (2008-2009).

4. XEP-0053: XMPP Registrar Function

Approve version 1.4rc1?

No final consensus on changes to the namespace issuance process.
Discussion to be continued on the standards at xmpp.org list and at the
next Council meeting.

5. Deprecated XEPs (78, 90, 91).

These need to be extended in the Deprecated state or changed to Obsolete.

   5a. XEP-0078: Non-SASL Authentication

   Consensus on changing this to Obsolete.

   5b. XEP-0090: Entity Time

   Near consensus on changing this to Obsolete.

   5c. XEP-0091: Delayed Delivery

   Consensus that we need to determine how widely XEP-0203 is
   deployed before changing this to Obsolete.

6. XEP-0012: Last Activity

Consensus to issue Call for Experience in preparation for advancing this
Standards Track XEP to Final.

7. XEP-0085: Chat State Notifications

Consensus to issue Call for Experience in preparation for advancing this
Standards Track XEP to Final.
