* Example #8 in Section 2 and example #8 in section 3 have <required/> as a child of <mechanisms xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-sasl'/>, which would violate the schema defined in RFC 6120
* For exactly what error to respond with, I'd rather it be SHOULDs rather than MUSTs, but not strongly enough to object
