Just curious, but why not?  Installing erlang is more or less a once-off 
thing, and it's not like it increases bloat.  In fact, ejabberd 
generally seems to take less resources than jabberd2.

Is this just another version of the classic "it's interpreted, therefore 
it's inefficient" myth?
