Perhaps you're not aware as a newcomer, but the issue is not with the
foundation itself. It is with the foundations 'Council'. The Council is
made up of 9 individuals, and the major complaint is that 5 of the 9 have
ties with Jabber.com. Jabber.com employs these individuals becouse they are
the largest and most active developers on the Jabber project.

It needs to be stated that the Council is still in check by the general
membership, which DOES have a fairly strict limit on the percentage of
representatives from any one entity. The general membership can boot out
the council, or heck, even an individual council member if need be.

The council was not setup this way so that j.c. could 'control' the
foundation. Could they be biased? Sure, no ones perfect. Are they gonna
vote on something becouse j.c. tells them to? Heck no. Jer ensured that
when he was taken into employement to WORK on jabber full time, that the
jabber project as a whole remained intact with no strings attached.
