I'm not sure what you mean here. As I see it, we just change the prose
of the specifications to state that they are XMPP Extensions. As far as
I know this is true for all protocol defining JEPs, including the
historical ones. The fact that some use 'iq:jabber:' as the start of a
namespace, or that we have since deprecated or superseded them, doesn't
change the fact that they extend the XMPP protocol. I don't think any of
them are actually tied to a pre-XMPP-1.0 environment to function, in
theory.
