Probably me too. And also I don't see XMPP as an alternative to these
kind of "social services". Hence I am personally not trying to build an
open alternative to these.

Plus, I may not have ever used these kind of services, but I saw people
use them from time to time and other times people told me what they do
on it, and I really never felt this was any kind of interesting (at
least for myself).

Agreed also. And to make it clear, I was never reproaching anything to
Ludovic. I don't think this is a problem to propose this kind of thing
as long as we can discuss this.
Nevertheless the only thing I was a little "shocked" was that the
badges appeared, as a one-sided decision, on the website while members
were discussing the topic on the member list (moreover mainly discussing
"against it"), and I don't think this was Ludovic who did this. And I
don't care who anyway, the goal is not to blame anyone.
