I'm more positive, if anything, than that - having MSFT, Google, and  
Facebook all doing XMPP means not only that we're winning them over,  
but also that they'll start to compete on what features are  
supported, and how well - and we should be encouraging them, too.

Open, ad-hoc federation is a feature. In the XMPP community, it's a  
feature we highly value, for sure - and we're rightly proud of it.

But every time a company like those starts using XMPP for clients,  
they come a whole lot closer to switching that feature on.

Google took that step - and maybe so will Microsoft, Facebook, and  
the rest.
