I'd add "if you have a wealth of experience in..."
I've been a [silent] member for years, haven't helped a lot simply because I don't have the time, been the Chariman for a year where I found it impossible to get anything done (so hats off to those than do).
I no longer write XMPP code, BUT I do offer lot's of help and support to customers and others in the IM space often recommending XMPP solutions and occasionally making a few quid from those services I offer.
Even if my renewal was declined I'd still do the same, but I do value the stuff I read on the lists and have a genuine long term interest in the technology.
