Yes.

As far as I can tell.

No. I do not personally have a use for Kerberos auth (or know enough
about it to be sure that my implementation was good).

I do not have enough domain knowledge to answer these questions. As
far as I can tell, there are no security concerns, and the spec is
clearly written.
