Dear members, The Board met today and resolved: The XSF will not carry sublicensing authority to any successor entity. Existing licences are unaffected. The Board makes no determination today about the legal basis of the programme, which remains subject to advice. This carried unanimously among those present. The Board also agreed to keep processing applications for now (not a pause, but two of us framed this as pending legal confirmation, which we don't yet have); to ask Cisco to recognise a successor entity in respect of the XSF's own use of the mark, kept separate from the sublicensing question; to annotate the public pages rather than remove them; and to get trademark@xmpp.org fixed, which currently bounces.
