[JDEV] Problems with umlauts in account password?

It failed because I forgot supplying the resource ;-).

No, it's a bug in the clients. The password has to be supplied (for plain
text auth) or hashed (for digest auth) in UTF-8.

Since this seems to be a common mistake in clients what about adding a
"use UTF-8" notice to
section 3.3.1?
