I have preliminary packages for jabberd 2.0-a3, and i'm running a beta
server based on those packages, so i would assume they work (with
atleast 2 known bugs). I'm thinking about contacting the maintainer of
the 1.4.x packages and ask him wether he wants to be the maintainer of
the packages (if not i could do it)

if you want to try them out, i'll put them to:

(the current bugs are that /var/lib/jabberd doesn't get owned by daemon,
so you might have to do that yourself, and the passwords are still
secret for the components)
