You get this automatically from all other resources without having to 
subscribe to yourself.  (e.g. log onto a server with two Psis.)

That being said, if you attempt to do this from a dead connection it's not 
going to work.  So the best way to determine if your existing connection is 
online is probably to ping yourself. :-)
