[Juser] konverse crashed on startup after adding ICQ account

Hmm. I haven't heard of people using konverse in ages, and I'm not sure
it's a stable client (in fact from your experience it seems that it is
not). You might want to try one of the other Jabber clients for *nix.
Perhaps centericq would meet your needs?
