With gabber I did:

Actions > Join Group Chat: room name: "jdev"
			   chat server: "conference.jabber.org"
	> Join Room 
        > Invite Contacts: "Drag contacts you would like to invite below"

, but then I could not drag anything anywhere.
With `gaim' I didn't even manage to find gateways to ICQ.
 
Any hint? Maybe another client whose procedure is well known to work?
