I am not a SIP expert, so correct me if I'm wrong.
In SIP there is overhead in the headers, in XMPP the overhead is the
XML. But the big advantage of XMPP is that we have build in compression
with TLS and optional stream compression. With enabled compression the
overhead in XMPP is very low.
