Fake-Dave rides again…

1) Roll Call
Present: Jonas, Georg, Link
Napping: Kev
Apologies: Dave

2) Agenda Bashing
Fake-Dave notes the two proto-XEPs.

3a) Proposed XMPP Extension: Anonymous unique occupant identifiers for MUCs - https://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/occupant-id.html
Jonas: +1
Link: +1
Georg: +1 (would rather see occupant IDs in the form of JIDs, maybe even passed in a 'jid' attribute in the XEP-0045 item tag)
Dave: [pending]
Kev: [pending]

3b) Proposed XMPP Extension: Message Reactions - https://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/reactions.html
Georg is a bit torn - there are some implementation details to be straightened out, but the big one is that it duplicates a subset of XEP-0372 (References); Link explains they were put into messages to enable tracking during MAM retrieval - Georg agrees this is useful.
Jonas doesn't think references is a good basis for reactions: "References refers to the body and may apply to only a subset of the referencing message. This is not so great: it creates ambiguity because the whole message is in fact a reaction." Link notes that there was a proposal to add a schema for referencing full messages, though this may have been in the context of MIX.
Georg recalls a previous discussion about needing some way to tell a MAM server that certain messages belong together, which should be done in a unified way (not defined individually in each XEP); one of the ugly sub-problems is: which ID to reference.

Georg: +0 (for now; still undecided)
Link: +1 (issues can be ironed out before Draft)
Jonas: +1 (details can be ironed out)
Dave: [pending]
Kev: [pending]

4) Outstanding Votes
Fake-Dave notes that some votes expired last week, and that Real-Dave and Kev have pending votes.

5) Next Meeting
2019-07-24 1500 UTC

Link gives pre-emptive apologies for the meeting in two weeks.

6) AOB
Silence is golden.

7) EOM
Link thanks Fake-Dave.

Kev wakes up.

QED.
