Polarian, I think declaring the account lost was premature. An expired certificate suggests a missed renewal, not necessarily an abandoned server
Whoops, I may have misread the date I thought it was a year expired, hence why I checked whether I could still connect to it without TLS, as I expected the server to have just shutdown entirely. In general I don't trust whois records, because I have seen numerous times where services have been left unmaintained but yet the domain still has activity and is still renewed. I apologise for the mistake at reading numbers :/ Ignore my comment about your data might be lost, although the advice on providers still applies nevertheless. Again apologies for the mistake!
