[Foundation] TM Discussion via Business JIG

All JIGs should and will be formed through the Jabber Foundation. The
Trademark/Branding JIG or whatever we call it will *not* be a temporary
JIG formed at the discretion of Jabber.com, it will be a full JIG that
will function independently under the sole auspices of the Jabber
Foundation. All JIG online conferences and mailing lists will be logged
and archived for public review. We will not have anything happening in
huggermugger! (Sorry, just had to slip in that Shakespeare reference... :)
As I understand it, Michael Bauer will be coming up with a jabber.com
proposal that will be presented to the Foundation for review by this
independent JIG. He is *not* creating the Foundation's policy here.
We -- the members of the Jabber Foundation -- need to come up with
procedures for the formation of JIGs. Let's keep it simple at first, but
it needs to be an open process and must not involve just emailing
someone. Does anyone know how working groups are formed in the
foundations for Apache, Python, GNOME, etc.? I'll try to do some
research on this here soon.
