[Foundation] VOTE: agenda for annual meeting

Yes, another vote! Really, we're getting close to wrapping this process
up, so bear with me! Per item 3.b in the email I sent on 2002-08-14 about
the election and annual meeting process [1], the next step is to vote on
the agenda. While we can add non-voting items as needed between now and
the annual meeting (2002-09-04), the 3 voting items are now fixed. In
order to ratify that these voting items meet with the approval of the
members, I am asking all members to send a message to memberbot at jabber.org
sometime between now and 2002-08-28. This is a straight up-or-down vote on
the agenda, so this vote will take you 30 seconds! Although memberbot will
provide instructions, you can also review the agenda ahead of time at
http://www.jabber.org/discuss/2002-09-04.html so that you are prepared to
vote yes or no.

After this agenda vote is completed, I will enable memberbot to handle
proxy voting on the 3 voting items from 2002-08-29 through the end of the
day on 2002-09-03. This will enable me to act as a proxy regarding the
proposed bylaws changes for anyone who does not want or need to
participate in person or by phone at the annual meeting on 2002-09-04.

NOTE: this vote will count towards the tally of official votes for each
member (see complete.html in the http://www.jabber.org/people/ directory
to see where you stand -- I'm not including the full URL because that file
contains email address and I don't want you all to receive more spam than
you're already getting). So if you are a founding member of the JSF and
you have not voted in the previous votes (on accepting new members in
2002-02 and approving the number of Board members in 2002-07), you will be
purged from the membership if you don't vote on the agenda! If you joined
the JSF in February of this year, you've got a reprieve. (BTW, if you see
errors in the tally mentioned above, please let me know ASAP.)

I will send out official notification of the annual meeting, along with
procedures for participating, in the next 24 hours.

Thanks again for your patience. If and when we make the proposed bylaw
changes on the agenda, this process will be much simpler in the future!

Peter
