I would tend to agree that voting on certain issues should be mandatory for
members (given enough warning).  We don't have that down though as a rule so
currently it is perfectly acceptable not to vote...  ;)  I'd tend to be
lenient on this one though because this is the first member vote, the first
time we've voted on inviting new members, and there is no well established
method for knowing when to vote, what we're voting on, and the schedule for
voting (at the very least, a web page with specific dates, procedures, etc
should be in place I think).

BTW - I'm one of the people who registered to vote but haven't yet so I
definitely fall into the category of the scorned.  In my defense though, it
is 11pm PST, and the Vote bot is unavailable...  Really.  I did try to vote.
