I guess I'm having a hard time seeing your position on this. Maybe
what you're trying to say is that this is a matter of principle, and
for a principle that one holds dearly, cost should not be an issue?
I'm not a rhetoric coach, but I don't know if that's the tack I'd take
in this matter. My guess is that only a relative minority feels
strongly about this issue. I think you actually said before that I
don't have to believe everything in the proposal letter in order to
vote for the proposal.
If I were trying to convince people to vote for this proposal, I'd
probably try to outline the potential benefits for the whole community
-- that, post-name-change, there would be a more even playing field,
and thus more corporate financial and practical support, and
faster/better/stronger growth of Jäbbër* from there. I'd probably also
try to point out that the costs -- tangible and intangible -- are
relatively low compared to the benefits.
