I have been reading, with great interest, the comments from both sides of
this debate. There appears to be walls building from both views.

My question to all of you is where is your view point coming from:
Commercial client, Commercial server, Open source contributor with no
affiliation, Open source contributor under contract etc.

I have seen mention of Jabber along with XMPP and without but I can tell you
from a corporate standpoint when you talk to Enterprise about the client or
server software the belief is that there is some kind of association with
Jabber Inc. This is not to knock the good people at Jinc but to envy them.
Great PR.

I spoke with an Enterprise account yesterday that thought that jabber.org
was a Jinc site. How could they think otherwise unless they are involved in
our community.

If you plan to sell your product commercially then you need for the
Foundation to be completely separate in name from a selling organization of
the same name.

Why not call yourself IBM and sell programming for computers - Think about
it.

Regards

Barry
