[Foundation] voting update

I've read replies to this thread and others have poked me off-list about
how the Bylaws require 10 days' notice before any meeting of the members,
etc. A few points:
Nothing says the members need to decide what the new logo is. The Board
could do it, the Executive Director could do it, etc. I'm trying to be
inclusive but I'm also trying to ensure that our nice new logo is featured
prominently in all the conference brochures for this summer's O'Reilly
Open Source Convention (OSCON), which is extremely important to Jabber and
the JSF as a way to "re-introduce" Jabber to the open-source developers
there. I did not realize how tight the O'Reilly deadline was until quite
recently and I posted to the list as soon as I knew. I'm sorry if people
feel like we're hurrying the process, but in point of fact we *are*
hurrying so that we can make a positive impression at OSCON. I don't like
this any more than you do and I'd like to discuss it as a leisurely pace,
but the reality of the situation is such that if we go slow, we won't have
our logo in the brochures. Sometimes reality is messy.
Today is my day off (yeah, right) and I'm not going to work this weekend
other than to make sure memberbot is running correctly and maybe to do a
little work on the XMPP WG stuff, but hopefully I'll return fresh on
Monday and be a little less cranky and I'll be able to put all this in a
more positive light.
Have a great weekend.
