Unfortunately, very.

How about:
www.jabber.com is to www.xmpp.org as www.web.com is to www.w3c.org.

This obviously doesn't work very well.

I have a hard time picturing the phrase "Surf the Web" being so heavily
used in advertising by a variety of companies, if they had a competitor
named "web" who was the proverbial 600lb Gorilla already established in
the market.

In the short term, calling it the Jabber xxxx Foundation will help,
because Jabber is an entrenched name, with a fair bit of branding
already behind it.

In the long term, it will hold the Jabber xxxx Foundation back, because
few competitors of JInc will be willing to work with, or promote, the
Jabber Foundation.
